we survived eclipse season & nearing the end of retrograde season. get ready to ground & harmonize moving into the month of april. mercury retrograde ends on april 7th & venus retrograde ends on april 12th, the same moment we experience the full moon in libra. the moon reflects our soul. it represents our inner world, our emotional state, the subconscious and our intuition. the moon is the most mutable cosmic body in our universe, changing cyclically through it’s phases, while also changing signs every two and a half days. the moon is connected to our dreams, the underworld, mothering, nurturing as well as fertility. the full moon & new moon are opportunities for reflection & resetting. while the full moon is supportive in releasing, the new moon is a great time to set intentions and watch what blooms with work & dedication. i love utilizing practices like breathwork during these lunar portals. join me on sunday april 13th at 8pm est for the full moon in libra & on sunday april 27th at 8pm est for the new moon in taurus for virtual breathwork groups. see you there!

about me

My name is Melissa Helwig Detwiler and I am a certified breathwork facilitator, trained by David Elliott & Erin Telford. I am a graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising Management and worked as a fashion buyer at world renowned retailers like Barneys New York, Topshop and Urban Outfitters.

In August of 2020 several months into the global pandemic, I took on a new role as a mother, which has been the hardest yet most fulfilling role to date. In June of 2022, I was diagnosed with a Desmoid tumor which took a huge toll on my mental health, mostly driven by all the advocating I had to do for myself in finding answers. I had a very difficult time navigating postpartum and beyond until I found breathwork and Kundalini Yoga. I have always been inspired and motivated to learn and do more. I dove into inner work with therapy and reading about healing, trauma, emotions and the mind body connection. breathwork has helped me to heal and regulate my nervous system.

I love learning and it is a privilege to hold space for you while guiding you through the magic of breathwork.
